Local Elections (Reps etc)

Your Union Work place Reps and other officers are elected every 3 years.

Think we are all idiots then, then put your money where your mouth is and stand. 

Seriously we need new blood to find out whats involved in  how to do jobs like Branch Secretary, and  Treasurer, to flatten the  learning curve a bit.

Anyway we think all things being equal, that this is happening in September…

Wanted, New Chair!

On that note…

Andrew Moss is retiring as Branch Chair in July 2021.We all thank him for his tireless work over several decades, both as Branch chair for Unite,  and as the President of the Association of Cambridge University Assistants (ACUA). Andrew managed the merger between ACUA and the Cambridge University Branch of Amicus, which later became Cambridge University Unite the Union.

Any other year we would have had a proper send off, to say thanks to Andrew for all he’s done, We ALL owe him a pint! at least

Maybe we can do something later in the year…

Don’t hide I can see you…

Branch Sec, informs us that,

the branch is also looking for people to become active in other ways; as safety representatives, teaching representatives, and equal opportunity representatives.

 

Its not for every one, some days you will be tearing your hair out, but it gives you a chance to make a difference, and its a good way to peek behind the curtain and find out whats going on. The University may appear to glide along like a slightly puzzled Swan but trust me there is a hell of a lot of paddling going on beneath the surface…

Nomination period:	Thursday 6 May 2021 – 7 June 2021
Deadline for Receipt of Nominations:	Wednesday 9 June 2021 at noon
Voting papers dispatched:	From 5 July 2021
Deadline for voting papers to be returned to the Independent Scrutineer:	Monday 23 August 2021 at noon
Declaration of results	Thursday 26 August 2021
